Ellingsen nominated as new chair of Sjømat Norge.
Line Ellingsen, CEO of Ellingsen Seafood, has been nominated as the new chair of Sjømat Norge, the Norwegian Seafood Federation. The nomination was announced in a statement by the organisation on Friday.
Ellingsen, who is based on the island of Skrova in Lofoten, has served in multiple roles within Sjømat Norge and is known for her visible presence in industry debates and public discourse. She has led Ellingsen Seafood since 2013 and is expected to succeed current chair Gunnar Haagensen, who is stepping down after two years due to capacity constraints.
Haagensen holds multiple board positions, including chair of Jangaard Export and West-Norway.
“The nomination committee is very pleased that Line Ellingsen is willing to take on the role,” said Britt Kathrine Drivenes, head of the nomination committee. “She knows the organisation well and has long experience in the industry. We are confident she will make a valuable contribution as chair.”
Several other changes are also proposed. Arne Karlsen, CEO of Gunnar Klo, is nominated as first deputy chair, while Mowi’s Øyvind Oaland is nominated as second deputy chair and proposed as the new head of the aquaculture industry group. Ulrik Ulriksen of Steen-Hansen is nominated as a new board member, replacing Guri Riple of Marine Constructions.
The nominations will be considered at the general meeting in Ålesund on 8 April.
