100 employees enjoy bumper Christmas bonus.

The Norwegian salmon farmer Ellingsen Seafood is paying out an extra EUR 10,000 in Christmas bonus cash to all its employees.

“The reason is that we will once again have a very good year,” wrote managing director Line Ellingsen in an email to SalmonBusiness about the festive gift. The decision to issue the bumper bonus was taken during a board meeting in November.

The publication Bladet Vesterålen was first to report the feelgood story.

The family-owned company is currently building a new plant for EUR 30.2 million, which is referred to as the company’s “largest single investment ever.”

“Despite this investment, there is a desire to share a good result with all our employees, who do a formidable job every single day,” Ellingsen wrote.

She added that they had paid bonuses in recent years, but not as big as this one.
