Pennsylvania-based industrial gases firm, Air Products, will head to Seafood Expo North America to bring its gas-based offerings to the “aquaculture” and greater seafood market, the company has announced.

NYSE-listed Air Products said it can help seafood processors “improve yield, reduce spoilage and save money”. To that end, the company will bring its food specialists to the show to help potential customers solve “their specific food processing challenges”.

The company offers a full range of gas solutions for wastewater treatment, aquaculture, modified atmosphere packaging as well as freezing and chilling equipment using nitrogen and carbon-dioxide.

Air Products is keen to show seafood processors its trademark Freshline IQ Tunnel Freezer, with its “continuous high throughput for a broad range of products with easy clean-up and minimal up-front capital investment”, a statement said, adding that seafood processors can also learn about the remote monitoring capability of its freezers.

With interests in liquefied natural gas, or LNG, and elsewhere, Air Products achieved fiscal-2017 sales of USD8.2 billion from operations in 50 countries, and its market-cap is about USD35 billion.

Some 15,000 people work for the company worldwide.
