Norwegian Greentech to supply water treatment system for Arctic Seafarm.
Norwegian Greentech has secured a breakthrough contract in land-based aquaculture, supplying its UV- and filter-based water treatment system for Arctic Seafarm’s facility in North Norway. The company has been subcontracted by Eyvi, which is delivering a hybrid flow-through/re-use system for the site.
Under the agreement, Norwegian Greentech will deliver nine individual water treatment systems, each filtering and disinfecting seawater before it enters the land-based salmon tanks. The company’s chemical-free, energy-efficient UV and filtration technology is designed to balance operating costs and environmental impact while processing large volumes of water.
The contract marks Norwegian Greentech’s first major award in large-scale land-based fish farming, although its technology has been widely used in maritime applications, including onboard 800 vessels and more than 30 wellboats.
“This is our breakthrough contract within large-scale land-based fish farming, but our technology is already well-established in the aquaculture industry,” said Børge Gjelseth, SVP Commercial at Norwegian Greentech.
Deliveries will take place in late 2025 and early 2026. Norwegian Greentech is a subsidiary of HAV Group ASA, which is listed on Euronext Growth Oslo.
Arctic Seafarm’s land-based facility at Helgeland, Nordland County has a 15,000-tonne MAB concession and plans to produce up to 25,000 tonnes of salmon, with an initial phase targeting 10,000 tonnes (8,000 tonnes HOG).
