Family of fish processor tied up in armed raid

Irish police on the lookout for gang robbed house in quiet town.

Irish Mirror reports that a manhunt is on for an armed gang who broke into the home of fish processing business owners Mr and Mrs Byrne, from Beaugh, Malin, Northern Republic of Ireland.

There is a company called Byrne Seafoods which is also based in Malin.

The publication reported that while the parents were away at a wedding, a gang of four men raided their house. Two of the couples’ sons aged 24 and 27, were at home and the masked gang tied them up, threatening them with crow-bars. They escaped with an undisclosed sum of money. The young men were not injured but were left terrified after their ordeal.

Garda have sealed off the house and are awaiting forensic officers to carry out a full investigation in a bid to trace the gang. Gardai have not yet released any details on the raid.
