Norwegian aquaculture technology provider FiiZK has announced an expansion of its service and production support offering for closed containment systems, doubling the size of its service department as part of the move.
The company has appointed Johannes Grønmo as Head of Production Support and Bjarte Ljøkjell as Head of System Development and Support. Grønmo brings ten years of operational experience from closed systems, including roles at Akvafuture and Marine Harvest (now Mowi). Ljøkjell rejoins FiiZK from Akvafuture, having previously overseen control systems for closed cages at FiiZK.
“Johannes and Bjarte are two highly competent industry professionals with extensive experience in the operation of closed facilities. Our customers will greatly benefit from both them and our expanded service offering within operational and production monitoring,” said Jan Erik Kvingedal, CEO of FiiZK, in a press release issued by the company this week.
FiiZK’s expanded services include training, certification, and regular operational follow-up for customers using its closed cage systems, with a focus on water environment, fish welfare, feeding, performance, and technical operations. Systems are connected to a central service hub offering 24/7 remote monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintenance support.
The expansion follows the hiring of Roy Salminen as Service Manager in late 2024, and the company was recently awarded a contract to deliver two of its latest-generation closed systems, each with a volume of 30,000 cubic metres and capacity for 1,000 tonnes of salmon.
