Processing plant fire not related to salmon.

In a statement, the parent company of Salmones Camanchaca (Camanchaca), reported that its fishing affiliate Camanchaca Pesca Sur, had a fire affecting the facilities of a horse mackerel freezing plant in Talcahuano, Chile, on Thursday.

There is still no clarity on the causes of the start of the fire, but the fire has not caused any harm or damage to the people who were there, the company wrote.

“The facility has provided no freezing services to Salmones Camanchaca in recent years and is not part of Salmones Camanchaca’s processing strategy in the future, therefore there is no impact for Salmones Camanchaca. Camanchaca is fully insured, including business interruption,” wrote Salmones Camanchaca CEO Ricardo Garcia Holtz in a statement on the Oslo Stock Exchange on Friday morning.
