Five appointments to Grieg Seafood’s new sales and market organisation

Salmon farmers’ new sales arm takes shape.

Before the summer, it was announced that Grieg Seafood will establish its own, fully integrated sales and market organisation. This will be operational from 1. January 2021.

In a press release, Grieg writes that it has made five appointments to the new organisation:

“We will re-position the company in the value chain and evolve from being a pure salmon supplier to become an innovation partner for selected customers. We need people with a strong drive who want to build something new,” said Kathleen Mathisen, CHRO at Grieg Seafood.

Carl Johan A. Sandberg will take up the position as Value Chain Director. He has many years of experience from the seafood industry and is currently Group Quality Manager in Ocean Quality. He is currently completing an MBA in Seafood Management at the Norwegian School of Economics, and is also co-founder and chairman of Youngfish.

Helene Andrea Gjerde Lund will take up the position as Team Leader for Europe. She comes from the position as Senior Sales Manager in Ocean Quality, and she has five years of experience from the industry. Gjerde Lund has an MBA from Copenhagen Business School, and is a board member of Youngfish and head of Youngfish West.

Anita Wahlvåg will take up the position as Sales / Logistics Coordinator. She has worked in various sales and marketing positions in Salmar and has several years of experience from the salmon industry. Wahlvåg has a bachelor’s degree in marketing from BI Norwegian Business School, and is currently store manager of Deguy.

Tom-Eirik Thorgersen will take up the position as Business Controller Sales. He has held the position as Controller in Mowi for the past eight years, where he was part of the Raw Materials & Trade Europe Management Team. He has 12 years of experience as a Controller in total, and has an MBA from Norwegian School of Economics.

Sindre Ramsevik Kvalheim will take up the position as Senior Key Account Manager. He comes from a similar position in Mowi, where he has been for six years. Ramsevik Kvalheim has a total of nine years of experience from the seafood industry, and is currently completing an MBA in Seafood Management at Norwegian School of Economics.

In June, Erik Holvik was hired as Chief Commercial Officer in Grieg Seafood ASA, starting on 1. October 2020. He will be the head of Grieg Seafood’s global sales and marketing efforts.
