Former CEO of struggling land-based producer lands new role

Sylvia Wulf, former CEO of US land-based salmon farmer AquaBounty, has joined the Biotechnology Innovation Organization as interim executive vice president for agriculture and environment.

The organization, which advocates for the biotech industry, has more than 1,200 members worldwide.

Wulf announced her new role on LinkedIn on Wednesday. She continues to serve as AquaBounty’s non-executive board chair after being replaced by David Melbourne as part of the company’s succession plan.

Troubled land-based producer obtains $10 million using farms as security

In July, AquaBounty agreed to sell its Albany, Indiana facility to Superior Fresh for $9.5 million. The company has been exploring various financing options following a significant increase in first quarter losses.
