Former head of Cermaq Chile takes lead role at Nova Austral

Chilean salmon producer Nova Austral has appointed Francisco Miranda as chief operating officer (COO).

The former managing director of Cermaq Chile officially takes up his role with the Antartic Magallenes salmon farmer on Jan 2, according to Aqua.cl.

The executive had been with Cermaq since 2000 and held diverse positions within company in Chile, Canada, and Scotland. Miranda led the organisation during severe biological and sanitary crisis, natural disasters, and organisational challenges.

“We see with great optimism the development of our operations towards the future and it is very important that we are able to develop our team and prepare ourselves for all the opportunities that our dynamic industry has for us”, said Nova Austral CEO, Nicolaides Nicos, adding that “we have no doubt that Francisco will join our team in a very good way to be part of these challenges”.
