Former Hendrix Genetics boss joins trout farmer Kames as MD

Neil Manchester started his career as a hatchery manager in the 1980s. Now he returns as its boss.

The Scottish trout farmer Kames Fish Farming writes that Neil Manchester will be joining as managing director designate at the start of August. He will take up the full position as managing director on February 1st, 2022.

Stuart Cannon, who has been managing director of Kames since 1972, is stepping down to take on the role of chairman.

“We are very pleased that Neil is re-joining our Kames family and we are confident that he has all the right credentials to continue our strategy, development and expansion of Kames,” the company said in a press release.

Manchester actually started began his fish farming career at Kames in 1985 as a hatchery manager. Manchester joined Hendrix Genetics in 2011 with the acquisition of Landcatch, a company that he helped build since 1998. He left the role of managing director for aquaculture at the company early this year.

“This is a very exciting and positive step and we look forward to 50 more successful years for Kames,” added Kames.
