Thomas J. Brennan joins closed-containment salmon farmer as director of project development.

American Aquafarms, which is planning a 30,000 tonnes-a-year closed pen Atlantic salmon farm in Maine, has appointed Thomas J. Brennan as its director of project development.

For the past 20 years, Brennan has led natural resource management for Nestle Waters North America, primarily for the Poland Spring Brand of Maine, also in the Mid-Atlantic and Eastern Canada.

“My core focus on the American Aquafarms team will be to coordinate and lead the Maine team in supporting the development process. I will also be fully focused on communicating with the community, locally and elsewhere so others can share in my enthusiasm for this project,” said Brennan.

American Aquafarms hopes to start construction this year and have the first fish in the sea by 2021/2022.
