Frank Øren takes up group chief executive role at Smir Group

Frank Øren has been appointed group chief executive of  Norwegian aquaculture technology and service provider, Smir Group, transitioning from his previous role as Director of Business Development.

The new position reflects the company’s significant growth and the need to optimize its resources across various sectors.

“We are pleased that Frank has accepted the new chief executive role. With increasing demand in all our areas, it is essential to ensure the effective utilization of the group’s resources. We are confident that Frank will lead our employees and clients well,” said Torbjørn Gjelsvik, Chairman of Smir Group, in a press release.

Øren, a seasoned veteran in the aquaculture industry since 1990, co-founded Smir Group in 2015 and has a background in leadership positions, including at Mowi.

He will now oversee a growing team of 75 employees.

Smir Group, specializing in aquaculture technology and services, operates across Norway, Scotland, and Chile. Øren will remain based in Rørvik.
