Grieg Seafood appoints new global managers

Ragna Heggebø and Martin Mjøs-Haugland will start in Grieg Seafood on 4 January.

In a press release, Grieg Seafood writes that it has appointed Ragna Heggebø as the global research & development manager of Grieg Seafood. She comes from the position as group R&D manager feed and fish performance in Mowi. Heggebø is a veterinarian with a doctorate in pathology from the Norwegian Veterinary College. For many years, she was head of the Veterinary Institute in Bergen, before she began her career in the aquaculture industry at EWOS and later Cargill Innovation.

Martin Mjøs-Haugland is appointed as the quality assurance manager in Grieg Seafood. He comes from the position of head of health, environment, safety, and quality (HSE) in NORCE Research. Martin has an M.Sc. in Water Resources and Coastal Management from the University of Bergen, and has extensive experience from industry and offshore. He has previously held various positions for companies like DNV GL, Hordafor and Swire Seabed.

Commenting on the appointments, Knut Utheim, chief technical director of Grieg Seafood, said: “The aquaculture industry must reduce our environmental impact and improve fish welfare, and at Grieg Seafood we are constantly working to improve. During the next few years, we will increase our focus on research, development and quality, and we are pleased that Heggebø and Mjøs-Haugland will join our team to lead these efforts.”

Heggebø and Mjøs-Haugland will start in Grieg Seafood on 4 January.
