Investigating potential anti-competitive behavior in the salmon industry.
The European Commission DG (Director General) Competition has today performed an inspection at Grieg Seafood Shetland to explore potential anti-competitive behavior in the salmon industry.
According to a message from Grieg Seafood, the company’s management aims to be open, transparent and forthcoming and will provide all necessary information requested by the European Commission DG Competition in its investigation.
“We have been informed that The European Commission DG (Director General) Competition is exploring potential anti-competitive behavior in the salmon industry. They have performed an inspection today at Grieg Seafood Shetland”, said Kristina Furnes, Global Communication Manager at Grieg Seafood, to SalmonBusiness.
“The salmon market is very competitive and we are not aware of any anti-competitive behavior. We are co-operating with the European Commission DG Competition’s investigation.”
