“In light of the unfolding Covid-19 pandemic, we are temporarily ceasing farm-gate sales at our Parramatta Creek Processing Facility and Hideaway Bay farm shops”.

The Tasmanian salmon farmer Huon Aquaculture is temporarily ceasing direct purchase at its site.

“This temporary measure allows us to better manage visitors to our sites thereby safeguarding our employees and business,” said Peter Bender, Huon Aquaculture CEO. In this uncertain time, we ask for patience and understanding from those impacted by the closures.

“Having direct-to-the-public sales has always been important to us and we fully intend to resume farm-gate sales when the situation is resolved.

“In addition to the closure of the farm-gate sale, we are taking proactive measures such as putting a hold on employee travel and encouraging teleconferencing.”“We are closely following government advice and will continue to communicate information directly to our employees and their families,” added Bender.
