IKEA opens food stores in 14 sites in Spain

Furniture giant seen as driver of salmon.

Swedish giant IKEA is opening food outlets across 14 sites in Spain, it wrote in a press release.

The store sells smoked salmon and salmon meatballs, the latter which were developed and are suppled by Mowi.

The stores will reopen from tomorrow to provide this week and there are pick ups in some stores. IKEA has also signed a deal with online food order company Just Eat to deliver food in Madrid.

Before the coronavirus hit, IKEA’s foodservice operations annually served around 680 million people a year, reported El Confidential.
