Being in close proximity to its customers is crucial to success says Garware rep.
Indian netting and rope manufacturer Garware Technical Fibres is expanding and reinforcing its presence in Norway with the addition of several new employees.
“The essence of our work lies in the continuous development and enhancement of our products. Being in proximity to our users, in this case fish farmers, is crucial for this process,” said Pål Korneliussen, country manager for the company’s Norwegian division, in a release earlier this week.
The recruitment initiative is part of Garware’s strategy to directly supply nets and related equipment to customers in Norway and the broader Nordic region. This direct delivery approach has proven successful in markets such as Canada and Chile and is considered vital for addressing customer needs effectively, according to the release.
To facilitate closer collaboration with local clients, Garware has now created a dedicated Norwegian entity. “The establishment of a Norwegian organization is a deliberate move to ensure tighter cooperation with our customers in the region,” said Korneliussen.
As well as forming partnerships with a number of Norwegian subcontractors, the company has also set up comprehensive analytical, logistical, storage, invoicing, and cloud-based solutions as part of its new approach.
Growing team
New additions to the Garware team include Olav Øvereng, former manager at Mowi and regional head at Greek seabass producer Avramar, and Eirik Bollvåg, previously with AquaStructures and Lerøy. Lisa Woods, also formerly at Mowi, will oversee logistics to ensure seamless delivery to customer sites.
Korneliussen reiterated the company’s commitment to maintaining the high standards that its Norwegian and Nordic clients have come to rely on. “While our products are manufactured in India, we operate under the newest Norwegian standard (NYTEK 23)”, Korneliussen said. “Our goal is to continually evolve our product line to help our clients cut costs and boost productivity.
Garware has already secured significant contracts with Norwegian aquaculture operators, with further details to be announced, according to the release.
