Innovasea strengthens RAS design capabilities with new hire
Innovasea has expanded its recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS) design team with the appointment of Miguel Martin, a specialist in large-scale RAS projects. The company announced the hire on Wednesday.
Martin joins from Norwegian firms Nofitech and Pure Salmon Technology, where he contributed to salmon farming projects across Norway, Scotland, Japan, the Faroe Islands, Brunei, and the United States. He brings close to a decade of aquaculture experience, including both facility management and RAS design.
“Miguel brings invaluable experience in designing large-scale systems for salmon production,” said Juan Pablo Barrales, Managing Director at Innovasea. “We are excited to welcome him to the team and leverage his insights.”
Martin will be based in Chile, a key growth market for land-based aquaculture, and will join a team focused on developing both freshwater and saltwater RAS solutions tailored to local conditions.
“I love the challenge of understanding and solving each farm’s unique needs,” said Martin. “The Chilean market represents an incredible opportunity for aquaculture growth, and I’m excited to help drive that progress.”
Martin holds a master’s degree from the Technical University of Denmark (DTU).
