Protix, which has Skretting and Nutreco as customers, appoints Josien Hermans to drive international growth.
In a press release, Dutch bug feed maker Protix writes that it has now fully transitioned to commercial-scale operator it has hired Josien Hermans as its new Chief Commercial Officer to enforce its new commercial strategy.
The Protix facility in Bergen op Zoom, Netherlands, houses insects that convert vegetable residual flows into protein.
Hermans has experience in the ingredients industry, as well as in consumer goods and has held various commercial leadership positions at FrieslandCampina, Cargill and Unilever. She holds a master’s degree in Business Administration from Erasmus University Rotterdam.
The new CCO will be responsible “for the overall commercial and sales strategy, leading the sales team and marketing & product development activities and driving the company’s international growth,” Protix wrote.
Last year, feed giant Skretting signed a deal with Protix that could see up to 5.5 million salmon servings per year brought to market with insect meal incorporated into the feed.
