Grieg Seafood Newfoundland writes that a single Atlantic Salmon parr in one of its 2020/2021 trial groups of fish produced a suspect detection for Infectious Salmon Anemia (ISA). This was picked up during a routine health inspection at its facility.

The impacted tank contains 118,000 fish.

Further testing is ongoing in cooperation with veterinarians from the province, with independent analysis to be provided from accredited labs. Precautionary infection control measures have been implemented.

The fish in question was recently vaccinated against ISA, the salmon farmer wrote.

“Current stock are not showing any symptoms of disease, nor has there been any instances of increased mortality. We will release more information in the coming weeks,” wrote Grieg in a statement.
