Mæstad has moved to Cargill from the Institute of Marine Research, where he worked as a senior communications consultant for 14 years. Prior to that, he had extensive experience as a journalist in local, regional and national newspapers, including Fiskaren (now known as Fiskeribladet).

“I am very happy to have Kjartan on the team as communications manager with us. He has extensive experience of what he works with and has good knowledge of the industry. With him, we get a skilled and dedicated person to work with our communication”, Fredrik Witte, CEO of Cargill Norway, announced.

Mæstad started in his new position at Cargill on March 14 and is based at the company’s head office in Bergen.

“The first impression is that Cargill is an exciting workplace with many skilled employees who work hard to provide feed for a large part of the aquaculture industry in the countries around the North Sea. In addition, it is very interesting to be able to collaborate with and gain experience from the Cargill Group’s large international communications department, which supports operations in over 70 countries”, Mæstad stated.

US feed giant Cargill has 155,000 employees in 70 countries.
