Kontali appoints former Cermaq exec as chief analyst

Aquaculture data and analytics firm Kontali has appointed industry veteran Philip Scrase as Chief Analyst Officer, the company announced on Monday.

Scrase will lead Kontali’s analyst team, focusing on the salmon, shrimp, and farmed fish sectors, and will be tasked with enhancing the company’s data-driven approach to market analysis.

Scrase brings decades of aquaculture expertise from his previous roles at Cermaq Global, Fondsfinans, and most recently, as the lead on seafood sector coverage at Carnegie Investment Bank. He also has experience in management consulting and project management from DNB.

Kontali CEO Kjetil Angell Kjerstad said the hire aligns with the company’s growth strategy. “Philip Scrase’s background in the aquaculture sector and client-facing roles fits perfectly with our vision. His passion for data-driven insights is clear, and we are confident he will bring invaluable expertise to both our company and clients,” Kjerstad stated.
