LAXEY completes first post-smolt delivery, launching second revenue stream.

Icelandic land-based salmon farmer LAXEY has delivered its first batch of post-smolt to a long-term partner, marking a key operational milestone and the start of recurring revenue from its dual-model strategy.

In addition to producing harvest-ready salmon, LAXEY will allocate part of its capacity to raising and selling high-quality post-smolt to other aquaculture companies. The company said the approach provides flexibility and enables earlier revenue generation while full grow-out volumes are still ramping up.

The transfer was completed via direct pumping into a well-boat, supported by pre-planned logistics. LAXEY’s facility in Vestmannaeyjar, Iceland, is positioned for efficient transfer, with sheltered conditions and sea access enabling both domestic and export shipments.

By supplying robust post-smolt to third parties, the company aims to support improved biological performance and reduce time in sea cages across the industry.
