South America to North America reinforced.

Last year, it was reported that the trade association The Air Transport Association (IATA), speaking on behalf of the global airport industry, said that it believed that the Chilean salmon industry may have a considerable lack of air cargo space in 2021.

Aviacionline now reports that the avian group LATAM is estimating to gradually add another 10 Boeing 767-300 BCFs (Boeing Converted Freighters) in the coming years, which could pick up some of the slack.

The first conversion will be incorporated at the end of this year.

“At a general level, connectivity from South America to North America and vice versa is being reinforced. Specifically, the connection from Colombia and Ecuador is strengthened to support the export of the floriculture sector. Also, the export of salmon from Chile and its import market will be strengthened,” said LATAM Cargo director of alliances and network Kamal Hadad.
