Grieg Seafood appoints new regional director for Rogaland.
Grieg Seafood has appointed Kjetil Ørnes as the new regional director for its Rogaland operations. He replaces Nina Willumsen Grieg, who has stepped into the role of interim CEO of Grieg Seafood ASA.
Ørnes has worked in the aquaculture sector since 1987 and has been with Grieg Seafood since its founding, holding roles in both Canadian and Norwegian operations. Most recently, he served as production manager for sea-based farming in Rogaland, a position he has held since 2006.
He has also played a key role in the region’s adoption of post-smolt technology, which shortens the sea phase of salmon production in an effort to improve fish welfare and lice control.

“Kjetil has several decades of operational and management experience from Grieg Seafood Rogaland. He has been instrumental in the region’s strong performance over time,” said Nina Willumsen Grieg in a company statement.
Ørnes assumes the position with immediate effect.
