Three major takeaway chains in the UK have announced limited reopening programmes after closing during the coronavirus lockdown, reports the BBC.

Burger King, KFC and Pret A Manger are opening a limited amount of restaurants around the country for delivery only.

Pret a Manger will reopen 10 shop kitchens near London hospitals from Thursday. The CEO of the sandwich store Pano Christou announced in a blog post that the reason was to ‘help give frontline healthcare workers better access to freshly prepared food’.

Grimbsy-based Young’s Seafood supplies salmon to Pret A Manger after Thai Union lost out on the major contract in 2018.
