Authorities did not want to disclose which boat or company is involved, but SalmonBusiness knows that it is about the wellboat “Robas”, owned by the shipping company Rostein.

Rostein also confirmed that the accident occurred in their company.

“There has been a tragic incident in connection with boarding one of our vessels. Police are investigating the matter and we have no way to comment further,” Rostein’s deputy chief executive Glen Bradley told SalmonBusiness.

The deceased is in his 50s and lived in Møre og Romsdal, Western Norway. His next of kin have been notified.

“Robas” is still in port in Sortland.

The remaining crew is now being looked after by the municipality’s crisis team, the police added in the press release.
