The vessel sustained hull damage forward with a hole on the starboard side allowing water ingress.
A workboat owned by Frøy AS ran aground near Hitra on Wednesday morning, prompting a swift response from rescue services. The incident was reported to police at 9:30 a.m.
MarineTraffic data showed a rescue vessel on site shortly after the grounding, joined by additional boats from the same company. Police confirmed that all crew members were safe and unharmed.
Local newspaper Hitra-Frøya identified the vessel as Frøylys. Frøy AS later confirmed the grounding and stated that salvage operations had begun.
“We are working to gain a full overview of the situation but have control of all our employees. No serious injuries have been reported. Our primary focus is ensuring the well-being of everyone involved and providing follow-up support to our staff,” said Arnt Solem, Director of Business Development at Frøy AS.
