Masoval-backed Ice Fish Farm names industry veteran as new CEO

Outgoing CEO, Guðmundur Gíslason, will continue in his role until the transition is complete.

Masoval-backed salmon producer Ice Fish Farm, a prominent player in Iceland’s salmon farming industry, has announced the appointment of Roy Tore Rikardsen as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

Rikardsen, who will be taking over the leadership role, brings more than 20 years of experience in salmon farming, particularly in the challenging environments of Northern Norway and Canada.

Asle Rønning, Chair of Ice Fish Farm, emphasized the importance of Rikardsen’s comprehensive experience across the salmon farming value chain.

“Icelandic salmon farming is still in an entrepreneurial phase and key to success is excellent operations based on good animal welfare and safety for environment as well as for our dedicated employees,” said Ronning. “Roy Tore has extensive experience from all parts of the value chain and will contribute to further developing our strong team on operations.”

Outgoing CEO, Guðmundur Gíslason, will continue in his role until the transition is complete. Following this, Gíslason will take on a new position within the group, as previously announced in September 2023.
