Mørenot Chile MD Trygve Nystøyl believes the Chilean salmon farming industry has recently gained greater opportunities to invest and buy better quality. The Mørenot subsidiary will soon open its first office in Chile.

“We have followed the Chilean market quite closely over the past eight to ten years, and already deliver to several customers here. Only now do we see that it is logical and strategic to be physically present here,” said Nystøyl to NTB, reported in E24.

Mørenot supplies nets, pens and other technical equipment to the marine industry.

Cflow, a company specialised in handling, storage and transport of live fish, has a cooperative company in Chile, will also looking to trade to the fish farming industry in Chile the same way it does in Norway.

“We have had an extreme innovation rate in the entire industry in Norway, so we are well ahead of technical solutions and investments,” said Cflow Marketing Director Gunnar Hoff.

2018 was a record year for the Chilean aquaculture industry, which exported 850,000 tonnes of salmon worth USD 5 billion.

PG Flow Solutions acquired Cflow last November.
