Mowi cashing in its own shipping division.
In August it was reported that Mowi would separate out and sell the 50 per-cent owned business in DESS Aquaculture Shipping. The salmon giant has invested EUR 60 million in the company.
When the stake is sold for EUR 115 million, a profit of EUR 55 million is thus realized.
The buyer of the shares is a fund controlled by Antin Infrastructure Partners, according to an Oslo stock exchange announcement from Mowi on Monday morning.
Antin Infrastructure Partners is a private equity firm focused on investments in infrastructure companies in transport, telecommunications, energy, as well as environmental and social infrastructure. Antin is headquartered in Paris and London. Among the company’s most important assets is the majority stake in the wellboat shipping company Sølvtrans.
