Maine-based smoker owned by salmon giant is being sued over “false sustainability” claim.

Press Herald reports that New York resident Abigail Starr has filed a lawsuit against Ducktrap River of Maine alleging that “Mowi’s marketing of the products as ‘sustainably sourced’ is false, deceptive, and misleading”.

The case was filed in U.S. District Court for the District of Maine. The lawsuit doesn’t specify damages on most of the allegations.

Don Cynewski, Ducktrap River’s general manager, told the publication that he was aware of the lawsuit and had no comment.
