Chilean salmon producer Multiexport has released second-quarter results.
The company reported a net profit of USD36m, compared to USD19.3m in the same period in 2016.
Furthermore, the company presented revenues of USD121.8m, 77.7 percent higher than the reported revenues for the same period in 2016.
The improvement in results is explained by higher volumes, as well as higher salmon prices.
The harvest volume reached 16,342 tons, representing an 83.8 percent increase in comparison to the same period in 2016. This increase is explained by higher harvest volumes of Atlantic salmon, which was impacted during the second quarter of 2016 by algal blooms.
The positive Operating EBIT, reached USD33.4m, which is USD30.9 higher than that reported for the same period in 2016. Meanwhile, the Operating EBITDA reached USD37.8m, USD 31.1m higher than in the same period in 2016.
The Unitary Operating EBIT of Atlantic Salmon was USD2.09 per kg, compared to USD0.03 USD per kg for the same period of the previous year.
