The Puerto Montt-based company delivered an operational EBIT of USD 18.8 million in Q1 2018, a steep fall from USD 35.3 million in Q1 2017.
According to the company the drop was due to lower sales prices. Also the Q1 2018 revenue was affected by the same reason, however only slightly, down from USD 126.8 million to USD 121.8 million.
The company achieved an EBIT per kilogram of USD 0.95, which was down from the USD 2.21 achieved in the same span of 2017.
However, the losses were compensated by higher volumes sold and lower costs. The company sold 16.5% more Atlantic Salmon in Q1 2018 compared to Q1 2017.
The total harvest reached 18,820 tons of salmon, which represent an increase of 23.3% compared to the same period of the previous year.
