Bluegreen nears delivery milestone for three FishGlobe units

Bluegreen is on track to deliver two closed containment systems for FishGlobe Technologies this August, as it progresses with simultaneous construction of three fish farming units at its Frierfjorden facility.

The 10K and 3.5K models, with fish volumes of 10,000 m³ and 3,500 m³ respectively, are entering final assembly. The largest model, the 30K, is under prefabrication and is scheduled for completion in spring 2026. With a volume of 31,000 m³, it will be the world’s largest closed fish farming unit and the largest thermoplastic structure ever built.

Bluegreen project manager Tommy Rasmussen confirmed that component prefabrication is complete and final assembly is underway. The company has invested in its own tower crane to improve logistical control ahead of the top-lift procedures in June.

FishGlobe Technologies co-director Tor Magne Madsen praised the project’s pace and cooperation, noting Bluegreen’s internal production of lighter thermoplastic panels has reduced the 30K unit’s weight by over a third, from 1,100 to 690 tonnes.

Delivery of the 10K and 3.5K units is expected in early August.
