Njord Aquaservice Launches Subscription-Based “Clean Net Guarantee” for Autonomous Net Cleaning.
Njord Aquaservice, a subsidiary of Helge Gåsø’s Frøy Kapital, has introduced “Clean Net Guarantee,” a subscription-based service for autonomous net cleaning, marking a new approach within the service vessel sector. The service offers fish farmers guaranteed clean nets at a fixed monthly rate, aiming to enhance biosecurity, fish health, and sustainability.
“‘Clean Net Guarantee’ is more than a service,” explained Anders Gåsø, Managing Director of Njord Aquaservice. “It represents a new way of thinking about aquaculture operations, integrating technology, sustainability, and fish health. After tracking developments in autonomous washing robots for several years, we believe this technology is ready for large-scale deployment.”
This initiative is part of Njord Aquaservice’s strategic collaboration with Remora Robotics, whose autonomous robots provide continuous net cleaning, improving conditions for fish while reducing environmental impact. Additionally, Frøy Kapital has expanded its service vessel investments by acquiring the Canadian company NL Marine Services Inc., a Newfoundland-based provider of vessel support for aquaculture operations, led by new CEO Andreas Krogstad.
Remora Robotics CEO Svein Erik Gregersen emphasized the partnership’s benefits: “Autonomous net-cleaning robots offer major advantages, from boosting fish health and minimizing environmental impact to generating data for precision aquaculture. With Njord Aquaservice and Frøy Kapital, we’re now poised to roll out this service along the Norwegian coast and internationally.”
The investment in autonomous net cleaning, alongside Frøy Kapital’s other strategic moves, positions the company as a key player in advancing sustainable aquaculture. Helge Gåsø, Frøy Kapital’s principal owner and Njord Aquaservice chairman, commented, “We see great opportunities in aquaculture, and our investments enable us to drive more effective, sustainable operations both in Norway and abroad.”
