Nofima has appointed Asbjørn Bartnes as its new Director of Communications, effective May 1.
Bartnes, 50, currently serves as Head of Communications for Tromsø Municipality in Norway. His previous roles include Director of Communications at the University of Tromsø and head of communications for Troms Police District.
“I look forward to contributing to the use of research-based knowledge,” Bartnes said in a statement, adding that he sees Nofima as a “solid company with talented people.”
Nofima CEO Bente Torstensen said Bartnes brings a strong background in communications and will be a valuable addition to the team.
Nofima is a research institute focused on the aquaculture, fisheries, and food industries. Bartnes will be based at the organization’s headquarters in Tromsø.
