Gaia Seafood, a salmon exporter located in the city of Trondheim, is giving up.

The exporter booked 12,9 million euros in revenue in 2017.

“Gaia Seafood implements voluntary liquidation of the business. Export of salmon without closer binding to the supply chain, has given the company less and less turnover in the last two years. The ability to do a good job in the market depends on a relatively stable and good supply of salmon over a period of time. We have not succeeding in maintaining this stability, and therefore we have decided to liquidate the company,” said managing director Per Terje Pettersen in a statement.

“The company still has a healthy economy, and all claims towards the company will be settled,” continued Pettersen.
