Odd Strøm departs after leading salmon farmer for ten years.

“The Nova Sea board informs us that, with great regret, we have received CEO Odd Strøm’s notice,” Nova Sea wrote in a press release on Thursday evening.

Odd Strøm has worked with Nova Sea since the summer of 2009. During this period, he led the company with considerable growth and organisational development while the company continuously delivered solid results.

“I am most pleased that we have succeeded in making Nova Sea a fully integrated rock solid company, from broodstock production to market,” said Odd Strøm. “I have had an incredibly exciting time as head of Nova Sea. The fact that I am now departing has been a difficult choice, but it feels right to release new forces to lead the company further. I have been able to work with wonderfully good salmon farmers that I will miss,” he said.

“The board of the company will spend time looking for Strøm’s successor,” said the newly elected chairman Aino Olaisen.

Odd Strøm will leave the company at the end of the year.

“The board thanks Odd for a fantastic job that is of great respect,” it said in the press release.

Nova Sea sales amounted to EUR 258 million in 2018, with a pre-tax profit of EUR 103 million. And because of the result, each member of staff got a EUR 23,000 bonus.
