NTS over 50 per cent in NRS. SalMar’s bid fails

Vesterålen-based salmon producer Egil Kristoffersen & Sønner has sold its ten per cent shareholding in Norway Royal Salmon (NRS) to NTS.

With time to spare before the end of the trading day and the expiry of the acceptance deadline for the NTS bid, the board of NRS issued an unexpected announcement:

“The board of directors have been informed that shareholders representing more than 10 per cent of the share capital (including Egil Kristoffersen & Sønner) intend to accept the offer from NTS at NOK 240 per share prior to the expiry of the acceptance period of the offer at 16:30 CET today (26 August 2021).”

“Such acceptances will result in NTS becoming the owner of more than 50 per cent of the shares in NRS and will make the satisfaction of the minimum acceptance condition in the intended offer from SalMar will not be achievable,” the announcement states.
