Einar Wathne, president of Cargill Aqua Nutrition (CQN), spoke about sustainability during the Cargill Expedition ‘Sailing to the Future’ between 28 and 30 September in Chile.

The results showed that 72 percent know what healthy seafood is, 88 percent prefer certified seafood, 70 percent are aware of where and how seafood is produced and 50 percent prefer fish that come from wild capture “because they have the perception that they are healthier. But in agriculture, for example, nobody asks that a cow should be from the wild,” Wathne observed about the greater demands that are usually made of seafood.

Wathne also underlined that the company had been publishing a sustainability report for ten years.
