Survey identifies workplace improvements for women.

Scottish Sea Farms has completed its first Women in the Workplace survey, highlighting areas for improvement in diversity, inclusion, and career advancement within the company.

The survey, launched last year, received a 54% response rate from female employees—comparable to the company-wide survey conducted in 2024. It found that 74% of respondents would recommend Scottish Sea Farms as an employer, with many of the suggested improvements expected to benefit the wider workforce.

Key areas identified for enhancement included menopause and fertility support policies, annual diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) training, and increased participation in STEM and career engagement initiatives for school-age pupils.

Several immediate changes have already been implemented, including the formalisation of career and STEM outreach efforts, updates to DEI training for both online platforms and managerial courses, and improved access to company policies through the HR SharePoint. The survey will also be conducted on an annual basis.

Longer-term initiatives, such as reviewing the company’s Personal Development Review (PDR) and induction processes, are expected to be finalised by the end of Q1.
