But fishmeal plants have remained idle in northern China.
The Marine Ingredients Organisation (IFFO) that represents the marine ingredients industries has reported that total cumulative production of fishmeal and fish oil for 2021 was up 6 per cent on the previous year.
However only Peru, Chile and India report a higher cumulative fishmeal production in 2021 with respect to the same period in 2020. In terms of fish oil though, Iceland also managed to improve its cumulative output.
In China, the organisation reports, shipments of imported fishmeal continue to rise as fishmeal plants remained idle in northern China.
