IfAqua and RASLogic Partner to Expand RAS Consultancy Services

Danish aquaculture consultancies IfAqua and RASLogic have entered a strategic partnership aimed at consolidating their expertise in recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS).

The agreement, announced on Tuesday, is aimed at enabling the firms to offer a broader range of advisory and project development services to clients investing in land-based fish farming.

Denmark has long been a centre for aquaculture technology, though its role diminished with the rise of large-scale salmon farming in Norway in the 1980s. The country has maintained a position in fish farming equipment and technology development, particularly in RAS, where early land-based salmon farms have demonstrated commercial viability.

Jonas Junker Bengtsen, founder of IfAqua, has worked with multiple RAS suppliers and has implemented projects across various fish species. RASLogic founder Ivar Warrer-Hansen is regarded as a key figure in RAS development. The firms will continue to operate separately but plan to collaborate on select projects.

The partnership is linked to several Danish suppliers of RAS equipment, including Oxyguard, CM Aqua, Desmi Pumps, Grundfos, Lykkegaard, Danfoss, Oxymat, IRAS, Apollo, and Ultraaqua. Support from FISHTECH, under the Danish Export Association, underscores Denmark’s efforts to position itself as a provider of aquaculture technology and services.
