Salmon balls at home: IKEA trials food delivery service

El Confidencial reports that furniture retailer (and Swedish meatball seller) is trialling a food delivery service in the French capital as part of its to focus on food expansion.

Salmon meatballs on demand are possible now in Paris for a limited time as IKEA capitalises on the popularity of its food range. “We have launched a delivery pilot,” confirmed Range Manager IKEA Food Services Gerry Dufresne to the publication. In Holland, IKEA is testing a takeaway service.

In March, Mowi revealed they had developed a salmon and cod ball to be rolled out the Swedish furnishing giant’s stores.

IKEA Food had annual sales of about USD 1.6 billion in 2016 – representing around 5 per-cent of overall revenue (USD 36.5 billion).
