Salmon Business reached readers in 62 countries in its first week of operation

It’s been a very busy start. Salmon Business was launched last Monday night, and during the first week of operation the fresh online news service has reached 3,821 unique users in 62 different countries.

Two stories have received more than 2,000 clicks so far, which is quite promising. Of our articles published since the launch, 2 out of the top 5 were videos, according to Google Analytics.

Norway is still our most important source of readers, ahead of the UK and the Netherlands. The USA is currently 4th, but I’d be surprised if the UK and USA don’t dominate our readership by later this fall.

Where do we go from here?

The next milestone will be to reach a critical mass of 10,000 unique users, which will lift us near to our closest competitors. We hope to hit that target within a few months.

Driven by new appointments, reinforced journalistic resources and increased social media presence, we expect to take the big leap.

For our ambitions, it is simply not enough to have as many readers as the players that currently dominate the news flow within the salmon segment. Our ambition is to win the position as a clear market leader.

Nothing less.

Exactly when we’ll reach this goal is currently uncertain, but we are committed to working hard to achieve it.
