Salmon farmer earns €59 million before tax

But still a challenging year for Alsaker Group.

The company turned over of EUR 170 million – this gives a 34 per cent profit margin.

Alsaker operates five smolt plants, 23 salmon farm licenses and a processing plant in Norway.

In 2018, the Group produced just under 33,000 tonnes of salmon, compared with 31,000 tonnes the year before.

“In terms of production, 2018 was a demanding year for the Group, but still a year of progress. Both the production volume and the harvest volume increased slightly compared to 2017. There is a lot of growth loss in connection with the delousing of salmon. In addition, the group had some algae challenges in the summer of 2018,” wrote CEO Gerhard Alsaker in a press release.

The book value of equity in the Group was EUR 131 million at the end of the year, representing an equity ratio of 57 per cent.
