Last week it was reported that BioBio Chile reported that the council called for salmon companies to shut down for two weeks in the processing-heavy region of Quellon, southern Chile.
BioBioChile reports that the salmon farming companies Salmones Austral, Yadran and Marine Farm are pausing operations to look for active COVID-19 cases among their workers and sanitize the spaces.
Working with the trade organisation SalmonChile, the company’s said it will resume shifts either Monday and Tuesday. Staff are only permitted to work now after they have presented a negative PCR result.
