Chilean salmon producer Salmones Austral has hired Jaime Molina as Deputy Manager of Sustainability.
Molina was previously the coordinator for Governance and Social Equity at WWF Chile where he worked in community relations, indigenous consultation, participation, promotion of rights and conservation of biodiversity at the local, regional and international levels.
In a press release issued by the company, Molina said: “I have worked for a long time in sustainability, so it is a great challenge for me to work at Salmones Austral and help them improve their policies in this area of action, and they can transform themselves into a model company in caring for the environment and in relation to the surrounding communities.”
Salmones Austral General Manager Gastón Cortez said, “Our idea as Salmones Austral is that Jaime can guide us and help us on these issues. He has extensive experience in terms of bonding and environment, so I am sure he will help us improve and have a more direct relationship with our neighbors.”
